Explore the theme of Curiosity as you discover ways to use arts-based teaching strategies to reach pre-K through 8th-grade students.
This five-day institute will draw together renowned guest speakers, artists, professors, teachers, and museum staff to explore the topic from multiple perspectives. Day 1 will kick off with a keynote address by Dr. Jessica Hoffmann Davis, writer/researcher and founder of the Arts Education Program, Harvard Graduate School of Education. Sessions will take place at the three museums where you will experience their exhibitions and collections, create art, learn new teaching strategies, reflect on your practice, and develop curriculum to implement in the classroom. Enjoy outings to other local arts venues and special workshops.
Professional Development Points (PDPs) or graduate credit (through MCLA for an additional fee) are available.
Please note: During our pilot year, priority will be given applicants who are practicing teachers.
